WHAT IS XOLA?

A workshop designed to teach young women from underserved communities meaningful and impactful ways to adopt holistic wellness practices. Through mindfulness sessions, healthy dialogue and literature/art exploration, young women learn to cultivate an intentional & radical self-care routine designed to combat various forms of trauma such as bullying, community-based violence, and neglect.

MISSION

To teach self-advocacy and its dynamic and required role in wellness for young women in underserved communities.

To establish healthy, safe spaces where young women from underserved communities are able to dispel cultural/community stigmas, stereotypes and taboos related to holistic wellness.

XOLA was inspired by the life, work, and research of our shero Bell Hooks.

Without knowing what factors created certain problems in the first place we could not being to develop meaningful strategies of personal and collective resistance.
